Custom Kitchen & Luxurious Bathroom Remodel for Newtown Homeowner

A homeowner who recently moved to the Newtown area needed a complete overhaul for an outdated, 2001-built colonial home she had just purchased. The kitchen was closed off from the living room which made the whole space feel too confined. She researched potential contractors for a whole-house remodel and was impressed with the Ryann Reed Design Build team’s design sense. She also loved that we are a one-stop shop, providing design, build, and project management services. She decided to employ us, and we got to work designing and building her updated interior.
Unique Kitchen & Bathroom Design Features With Custom Details
We began by creating an opening between the kitchen and the living room to create a more expansive space. To do this, we had to reroute some of the plumbing and electrical wires. Another challenge was COVID-19, as we began the work just before pandemic-related shutdowns. To accommodate our client, we completed the work quickly.
The kitchen remodel featured many details we created especially for this client, including custom cabinets, quartzite countertops, and an island painted in a vibrant blue. Some of the other unique touches include a peg system for plates and bowls, a utensil organizer, a pull-out step stool, and a custom receptacle cover painted to match the island. New custom metal rails create an open bar system between the kitchen and living space.
We also remodeled the laundry room, powder room, and master bathroom. The master bathroom includes a freestanding bathtub, updated hardware, and new cabinets. Finally, we updated the trim throughout the house and changed all the interior door hardware.
As with all our projects, our designer worked directly with our lead carpenters throughout the process to make sure it proceeded smoothly.
